Digital Illustration

I began using the Procreate application on my iPad in 2020. After experimenting with different brushes and effects, I developed two major styles that I use. For portraits and more painterly work, I use a more realistic and airbrushed style. For illustrations and quick character sketches, I use a flatter and more stylized aesthetic.

As part of a group show in my senior year of college, I created the Amethyst Series. The series includes five illustrations inspired by femininity, spirituality, and moments of my life where I felt most connected to my artistic self.

At the beginning of my senior year I challenged myself to create a finished portrait every day for a month. This allowed me to practice drawing from reference and expand my ability to represent the beautiful diversities of the human face. I began this project with the intent of creating realistic portraits, but eventually branched out into a more expressive style.
